HTM03 -01 and Legionella Seminar for
We would like to invite you to the first Legionella and Indoor Air Quality seminar specifically designed for the healthcare sector responsible for maintenance and infection control.
He is a visiting lecturer from the University of Leeds and director of “Specialised Ventilation in Healthcare Premises” course. As well as an Academic board member, speaker and examiner of the post graduate courses for Pharmacists at the University. Lecturer on the Health Protection Agency (HPA) “Diploma in Healthcare Infection” post graduate course at Eastwood Park, Falfield. He is a Member of the Hospital Infection Society (HIS), a Fellow of IHEEM and a member of the CIBSE Healthcare group. Tom Makin is actively involved in diagnostic Medical Microbiology for over 30 years, and is the Directorate Manager of the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Royal Liverpool University Hospitals.
He has researched extensively into environmental aspects of Legionnaires’ disease, and has assessed the effectiveness of various measures in the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems. He has published many papers on this topic in scientific and technical journals, and has presented over 200 papers on Legionella at various conferences and seminars both nationally and internationally.
